Nevada's Bureau of Land Management
View Detailed Map
The Bureau of Land Management oversees approximately 44.5 million acres or 82 percent of
Nevada`s public lands. Included in this acreage are ranges for free-roaming wild horses and burros, wildlife areas, critical desert bighorn habitat, mines and mining claims, historic sites, and
lands leased for grazing.
The diversity of these lands is reflected in their use. Grazing and
mineral extraction are important economic activities. However, in recent years there has been a dramatic shift toward recreation on BLM-administered lands as more and more Americans take to the outdoors to enjoy their public lands.
Begin a tour of major recreation areas administered by the BLM by highlighting a site in the list
above and then clicking the "Select" button. Or click on the "view map" button to select sites from
a detailed map.
