Description: 23,000 acre Off-Highway Vehicle recreation area, with rugged, chapparal covered terrain. Approximately 120 miles of roads and trails.

Buckhorn campground has 4 tent sites in a pine forest. Red Mountain has 7 tent sites, 3 accessible RV sites and drinking water.


Location: From Ukiah, go 1.5 miles east on Talmage Road to Eastside Road. Turn right and go 0.3 miles to Mill Creek Road. Turn left on Mill Creek Road and go 5 miles to South Cow Mountain Recreation Area.

To reach Buckhorn campground, continue on main dirt road (veers right) 7 miles to Buckhorn Road (Trail #20) intersection. Turn right and go 1 mile. To reach Red Mountain go 2.5 miles on main road and turn right.
