Description: 4800-foot elevation. 17 campsites and 7 double sites, which can accomodate up to 16 people each. A fenced pasture is available for campers with horses. Trails lead into the in the Redwood Mountain/Whitaker Foerst grove of giant sequoias. This campground is within the Giant Sequoia National Monument. Trails in the monument, open to hikers, horses, and bikes (outside the wilderness areas), wind through giant sequoia groves, up mountains, and alongside wild rivers.
Location: From Visalia, take CA 198 to CA 245 and go north to Badger. Turn north on Hogback Road, then about 8 miles north on Whitaker Forest Road (County Road 465).
