Description: 2000-foot elevation. 10 campsites, including 3 walk-in tent-only sites and a large picnic area, on Applegate Lake. Windsurfing, boating, and swimming in the lake. Fishing for trout and bass in the reservoir; a fish-cleaning station is near the shore. Trailhead for a 7-mile trail, which circles around Collins Mountain, passing several old mines, an abandoned miner`s cabin, and a Sasquatch trap. The trail is open to mountain bikers, hikers, and horse riders.
Location: From Jacksonville, go 7 miles south on OR 238, then 16 miles south on to Upper Applegate Road.
