Description: 1700-foot elevation. 16 campsites on the east side of Cougar Reservoir. Swimming, waterskiing, and boating in the reservoir, as well as year round fishing for bass, crappie, and walleye. Facilities include a double bath house and a swimming area buoy marked for safety.
For those who wish for a warmer (or a clothing optional) swimming experience, Terwilliger (Cougar) Hot Springs (111º) is nearby. The trailhead is off FR 19, and the springs are about 0.25 mile hike in. A $3 day use pass or a $75 annual pass is required, available from the Blue River Ranger Station on OR 126.
Location: From Eugene, go 46 miles east on OR 126, 11.5 miles south on Forest Road 19 (Aufderheide Scenic Byway), and 1.5 miles on FR 1950.
