Description: 2600-foot elevation. 16 campsites include 5 walk-in tent sites, and a double site, which accomodates up to 12 people. The campground is constructed to be entirely barrier-free, offering the mobility-impaired access to campsites, the fishing platform, and a nature trail which meanders through the area. The campground is also near the Wild and Scenic Sandy River. Trailhead access to the Mount Hood Wilderness from the campground and from points near the campground. If you take the left fork in FR 1825, you reach the trailhead for spectacular Romona Falls on the Sandy River. Fishing in the river for steelhead year round, for adipose-clipped coho salmon from September 1 - October 31, and for chinook salmon February 1 - July 15 and September 1 -October 31. Location: From Sandy, go east on US 26, 4.5 miles north on Forest Road 18, 2.5 miles east on Forest Road 1825, then bear right, and go another 0.25 mile.
