Description: 3200-foot elevation. 16 campsites near Little Crater Lake. The small version of the famous lake to the south is considered a geologic oddity, possibly created artesian water forcing its way through the soft volcanic rock, creating a "blowhole." Excellent huckleberry picking in the vicinity. Fishing in the lake. Hiking on the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, which leads south to Timothy Lake and north up the slopes of Mount Hood.
Location: From Sandy, go 66.5 miles east on US 26, 4 miles south on Skyline Road (Forest Road 42), 2 miles west on FR 58.
