Description: The 10,158 acres of this area were set aside to provide winter habitat for elk. The sage, scrub, and grasslands of this area also provide year round habitat for mule deer, and summer grounds for pronghorn antelope. Cutthroat, rainbow, brown and brook trout can all be caught in the creeks and the Middle Fork of the Powder River. Butch Cassidy`s "Outlaw Cave," which offered his band protection, is here in the canyon formed by the river.

Location: From Kaycee, go 13 miles west on WY 190/ Barnum Road, then turn south on any of the BLM roads that lead into the area.
