Description: This site is closed for the summer of 2010 while construction of new restrooms takes place. For an alternative in the area, see Quaking Aspen Campground, just 2 1/2 miles west of McGaffey.
The campground at 8000' is set in Pinon-Juniper and Scrub Oak habitat and is convenient to I-40 near Gallup, NM. 29 camping units which include 8 RV utility hookups(electric and sewer - no water). McGaffey Lake is a popular fishing destination. Hike to McGaffey Lookout.
