Description: Actually two camping areas: Lower Canjilon and Middle Canjilon, the Canjilon Lakes campgrounds offers opportunities for fishing for Brook and Rainbow trout species, canoeing, swimming and hiking. Views of Canjilon Mountain, as well as the surrounding national forest are spectacular and are a photographer's dream. In close proximity to the Rio chama and Rio de los Brazos as well as Heron Lake State Park, providing ample fishing opportunities. The campground has 40 campsites on shores of six small ponds at 9900´ with 6 picnic spots above at Upper Canjilon Lakes. Hunting for elk, deer and bear are nearby.
