Description: 36 single campsites, 2 double sites for up to 16 people each, and a day use picnic area on the banks of the Green River above the dam. The campground area offers a boat ramp, beach area, dump station, fish cleaning station, and restrooms with showers. Public showers are available for $2/person.

Fishing in Flaming Gorge Reservoir for mackinaw (lake trout), Utah chub, rainbow trout, channel catfish, and smallmouth bass. The Green River below the dam is one of the best trout streams in the country, and is also popular among rafters and kayakers. There are over 220 miles of trails in the NRA. Sheep Canyon Geological Area, just west of the NRA, features stunning scenic panoramas, framed by colorfully-striated cliffs.


Location: From Rock Springs, go 4 miles west on I-80, then exit onto US 191 south. Go south 10 miles, then go east 7 miles on Forest Route 106.

Notes: There is a public telephone here. Dump station is $4 for non-campers.14 day stay limit. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area has a use fee of $2/day; $5/two weeks; and $20/ year. Passes can be purchased from visitor centers, campground managers, and local businesses.
