Description: Buckboard Crossing has 68 camp sites on the northwestern shores of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. 8 sites have RV hookups. Other amenities include fish cleaning stations, a nearby marina, with a store, gas, and propane, and accessible flush toilets.
Fishing in Flaming Gorge Reservoir for mackinaw (lake trout), Utah chub, rainbow trout, channel catfish, and smallmouth bass. The Green River below the dam is one of the best trout streams in the country, and is also popular among rafters and kayakers. There are over 220 miles of trails in the NRA. Sheep Canyon Geological Area, just west of the NRA, features stunning scenic panoramas, framed by colorfully-striated cliffs.
This is the point where the Cherokee Trail crossed Flaming Gorge.
Location: From Green River, go 14 miles south on WY 530 to McKinnon Junction. Turn left to continue on WY 530. which turns into Forest Route 009; go 4 miles east from the junction.
