Description: The Milner Historic Recreation Area is a 2055-acre tract adjacent to the Snake River, nine miles west of Burley. Several recreation sites, developed and primitive, can be found along the more than 4 miles of shoreline. The area features basalt cliffs surrounded by a sage grassland. This is a year round haven for songbirds and waterfowl. Excellent fishing for bass, channel catfish, yellow perch, and trout. Ice fishing most winters.

Over 100 years ago, emigrants on the Oregon Trail passed through here, and segments of the trail, marked by deep ruts, are still visible. Just north of the west entrance to Milner, there is an interpretive shelter and a hiking trail that to some of the Oregon Trail Ruts.

Location: From Burley, go west 8 miles on the County Road which borders the Snake River.
