Description: 6,700-foot elevation. 5 tent campsites on the East Fork of the Wood River. Fishing for trout. Trailhead at Federal Gulch.
In the winter, the river drainage (excluding Bear Gulch, Johnstone Creek, and upper North Fork of Hyndman Creek) is open to snowmobile use. The adjacent river valley, Hyndman Basin, is closed until March 15. After March 15, snowmobilers are simply urged to avoid the area of the ski hut and the ski slopes in Hyndman basin, to share the snow with the skiers.
Location: From Ketchum, go south on ID 75 to Gimlet, then go east on Forest Road 118, along the East Fork of the Wood River.
