Description: 2800-foot elevation. 16 campsites on the Salmon River. Put-in for floating the Salmon Wild & Scenic River, Class III-IV rapids. Trail from campground loops south to Butt Creek Point, then north to Horse Creek Campground, also on the Salmon. Fishing in the river for cutthroat and rainbow trout, steelhead and whitefish. Picnic facilities are accessible.

Notes: Controlled permits are required to float the river June 20 -September 7. Permits for float boats are issued in a computer lottery in December and January of the previous year.
All floaters are required to carry fire pans, porta-potties, ash containers, shovel, bucket, and food strainer. Leave No Trace and minimum-impact camping techniques are required.
For whitewater classification and put-ins/ take-outs for the entire river, visit the American Whitewater Association`s river project site.
