Description: 5 campsites on the border of the Gospel Hump Wilderness. You can dive right into the heart of the wilderness by heading south on the trail, or you can skirt around the edge by heading east. Another option bypasses the wilderness entirely and heads north to the South Fork of the Clearwater, but can be done as a shorter loop hike. If you want a quick and easy reward, go to the end of the road and check out the astounding view from Sourdough Peak.

Location: From Grangeville, go south and east about 9 miles to get to ID 14; go east 24 miles on ID 14, then south 5 miles on Forest Road 212/1894, and west 15 miles on Forest Road 492. These roads are very rough and should not be attempted without a sturdy truck and four-wheel drive.
