Description: Campground was formerly known as Prison Camp.4900` elevation. This area offers a cool refuge from the hot desert city below. 12 camp sites and a horse corral. Ruins of Prison Camp can be seen thru the big oak trees. The sky islands of the Coronado National Forest are unique and surprising. Birding, wildlife watching and hunting for White Tail and Mule Deer, Javelina, Cougar and Black Bear. Notable historic figures include Cochise and Geronimo. Many opportunities for mountain biking. Nature walks at nearby Oracle Center and Sabino Canyon. Hiking access to the Arizona Trail and scenic driving the Sky Island Scenic Byway.
