Description: There were a total of fifteen water wells spaced at ten mile intervals along the old Magdalena Livestock Driveway trail between New Mexico and Arizona in the 1880s. At one of them, today�s BLM site features camping and picnicking plus two nature trails through the pinon and juniper and three vista points overlooking the still wide-open spaces. Close your eyes and you can almost hear the longhorns lowing. Camping, hiking, wildlife viewing.

Notes: Campground has 22 individual campsites, all with picnic tables, grills, and fire pits. 12 have shade. Drinking water, firewood and toilets are provided. There are also 3 miles of hiking trails located in pinon-juniper and ponderosa pine woodlands with scenic views of the San Augustin Plains.
