FIRE RESTRICTIONS: This site is OPEN but under Stage I wildfire restrictions.

Description: 5600ft elevation. 43 camp sites with 6 picnic areas, and two group areas which hold up to 25 people/7 vehicles each. Group picnicking or camping. Wildlife viewing and scenic driving in the area. Trout fishing is popular in the creek, which runs through the campground. Woods Canyon Lake and Willow Springs Lake are a 10 minute drive away. The Highline National Recreation Trail is accessed via Canyon Trailhead, 3 miles from the campground. Hiking and horse riding on the trail. Many opportunities for horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking the rugged terrain in Tonto Forest. Birdwatching and wildlife watching for hawks, eagles, javalina, white tail deer and coyotes, particularly near the Mogollon Rim and the area's many lakes and rivers.
