FIRE RESTRICTIONS: This site is OPEN but under Stage I wildfire restrictions.

Description: 6200ft elevation. All terrain vehicle playground,campground, and picnic area for ATV riders and dirt bike riders. 10 campsites with #3 site used as a group site(max 20 people/4 vehicles). Picnic area with ramada and 6 tables. Area has 20 miles of trails, 2 gravel pits, childrens riding area, and higher terrain hills.Higher terrain trails rise to 6,400 foot elevation. Rock and granite surface the area with ponderosa pine around. A host is available to provide information and assist visitors. Nearby four-wheel driving and mountain biking to old mining camps and ghost towns. Wildlife viewing. Birdwatching for hawks and bald eagles. Hunting for antelope, mule deer and black bear. Explore nearby rugged and remote Verde River Canyon with the Verde Canyon Railroad. Scenic driving. Relive old Arizona history in Jerome and Crown King. At the lowest elevation, the primary vegetation is of the Sonoran Desert type. As the elevation rises, chaparral becomes common, followed by piņon pine and juniper. Above that, Ponderosa pine dominates the landscape.
