Description: 12,533 acres of sage-covered uplands cut by deep river canyons. The canyons in this wilderness range from 500-800 feet deep. The sage and grassland habitat on the plateau above the river supports pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, and sage grouse. The river protects sensitive species such as the redband trout and the river otter.
Location: Just south of the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway.
