Description: 10,000-foot elevation. Horseshoe Meadows consists of a family camping area, and an equestrian camping area in a meadow with pine trees surrounding it. 10 equestrian drive-in sites each with a corral and hitching rail are located close to a trailhead access leading into the John Muir Wilderness and the Golden Trout Wilderness. Trail from the campground leads to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. The family campground has 18 single sites for walk-in tent camping. Hiking and horse riding on the trails. Several picnic areas are nearby. Enjoy the scenic views and the scenic drive.
Location: From Lone Pine, go 3 miles west on Whitney Portal Rd (Forest Road 15207), then turn south and go 15 miles on Horseshoe Meadow Road.
