FIRE RESTRICTIONS: This site is OPEN but under Stage I wildfire restrictions.

Description: 6908ft elevation. 46 camp sites with 16 sites disabled accessible. Nearby are Upper Mary Lake and Ashurst Lake offering fishing, boating,windsurfing,picnicking, wildlife watching, and scenic views. Scenic driving. Hiking trails are in the area. Mountain biking on old forest roads and some trails. The Arizona Trail is accessed from the forest road leading to Ashurst Lake.The Coconino National Forest is one of the most diverse National Forests in the country with landscapes ranging from the famous Red Rocks of Sedona to Ponderosa Pine Forests, to alpine tundra. Explore mountains and canyons, fish forest lakes and wade in lazy creeks and streams. Birdwatching for hawks and blad eagles and wildlife watching. Hunting for antelope, black bear, elk, turkey, and white tail deer. Nearby hunting for bison. Mountain biking, hot-air ballooning and horseback riding. Explore nearby ancient ruins and ancient lava craters.
