Description: 6 campsites on the John Day Wild and Scenic River. The river winds through colorful high desert canyons, fascinating fossil beds, and
sagebrush uplands. Fishing is exceptional, particularly for steelhead (in season) and bass. Kayaks, rafts, and driftboats are the most popular craft.
Take-outs below the campground include Twickenham, Clarno, and JS Barnes State Park. Please check Oregon sport fishing regulations for specific restrictions and seasons for the John Day River.
