Description: 2900-foot elevation. 10 shady campsites, with group camping, on the Crooked River below Prineville Reservoir. Popular activities include fishing in the river or in Prineville Reservoir, mountain biking on area roads, or picnicking. The Crooked River is open to angling year round, with catch and release for trout and restricted to artificial flies and lures January 1 - April 21 and November1 - December 31. The Crooked River is closed to fishing for 150 feet downstream from Bowman Dam.

Downstream from Prineville, a segment from Dry River to the boundary of the Crooked River National Grasslands offers class IV-V kayaking and rafting during spring runoffs.
