Description: 12 campsites in the Pryor Mountains, which are riddled with caves. The most visited is nearby Big Ice Cave, but many others can be explored with a permit from the Forest Service or the BLM. Big Ice Cave is about 11 miles west on Forest Road 23085, and is developed with a picnic area. Please avoid the caves from November - May, when the bats are hibernating. Hiking is unrestricted, but there are no maintained trails.
The Pryor Mountains real claim to fame of course, are the herds of wild horses on nearby BLM land. Other watchable wildlife includes resident bighorn sheep.
Location: From Bridger, go south 3 miles on US 310, 22 miles southeast on the Pryor Mountain Road, and 1 mile east on Forest Road 2050. High clearance vehicles recommended.

Notes: 20-foot maximum RV length. Please pack out all your trash. An oddity in still-glacial Montana, this mountain range was never glaciated, and so features many
archeological and paleontological sites.
