Description: 7340-foot elevation. 31 campsites on the West Fork of Rock Creek, near the boundary of the Absaroka-Beartooth wilderness. Wilderness access from several area trails: the one from the campground crosses north to East Rosebud Lake; trailhead east of the campground climbs up to Timberline Lake, on the Silver Run Plateau at the edge of the wilderness; trailhead from the end of FR 2071 accesses a massive trail system which explores the heart of the wilderness. Mountain biking permitted on the Silver Run Trail. Even if you don`t make it into the wilderness, you can admire the snow-capped Beartooth Range from the campground. Fishing in the creek is mostly for rainbow & brown trout.

Location: From Red Lodge, go about 2 miles south on US 212 (Beartooth Scenic Byway), then about 10 miles west on West Fork Rock Creek Road (Forest Road 71).
