Description: 5600-foot elevation. 14 camp sites on the Gallatin River. Rafting and kayaking are popular on the Gallatin; Class I-II rapids on the 20-mile stretch between Yellowstone National Park and here, and some Class IV rapids on the 13 miles from here to Squaw Creek. Excellent fishing for brown trout, rainbow trout, mountain whitefish, and sculpin. Trailhead access to the adjacent section of the Lee Metcalf Wilderness 2.5 miles north or 3 miles south of the campground. Old logging roads network the area, accessible from Swan Creek or Moose Creek, and make for great mountain biking or ATV riding.
