Description: There are 12 sites on the Yellowstone River, with a large day use area nearby at Yankee Jim Canyon. A boat ramp at Yankee Jim Canyon gives access to the easy Class I-III rapids of the Yellowstone between Gardiner to Miner. Fishing in the river is excellent for rainbow trout, brown trout, goldeye, shorthead redhorse and mountain whitefish. Wildlife viewing for Greater Yellowstone birds and wildlife, including pelicans, cranes, moose, elk, deer, and bears. Best times for viewing wildlife are early in the morning and around nightfall.
