Description: Campground will be closed for the 2013 season. Call the ranger district for information. This large campground at 7600ft elevation is located along NM 4. The campground is set in a beautiful forested location with open meadows in the area. Four hiking and one nature trail enhance your mountain experience. The nearby San Diego Canyon Overlook provides spectacular views of the Jemez River Valley and surrounding cliffs and mountains. Visit the nearby Jemez Falls on the East Fork of the Jemez River. The Valles Caldera National Preserve is approximately 10 miles to the east where scenery and wildlife are in abundance. The campground is also a poplular cross-country skiing destination in the winter months. 59 camping units with fire grills and tables. Paved loop acess and paved parking pads. Has an ampitheater with universal access, and vaulted toilets. No utility hookups or dump station.
