Description: 2800-foot elevation. 31 campsites include a group site. Popular site for families. A sandy beach invites swimmers, and the Palouse River has been dammed for this purpose. There are 2 group picnic areas and a playground near the camground, as well a a half-mile interpretive trail. Fishing for rainbow and brown trout which can be caught above and below the campground in the Palouse River.

The swimming beach dam was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933. The campground was donated by the Potlatch Lumber Co. in memory of A.W. Laird, a lumberman and early executive of the company. A hiking trailhead is south on here on FR 292.
