Description: Kortes Reservoir is located in Black Canyon of the North Platte River, a narrow canyon below Seminoe State Park. There are frequent surges of water from the dam upstream, so there is no boat ramp and no fish are stocked here. Rainbow trout are stocked in the Miracle Mile, and fishing for them is some of the best in the state. The Miracle Mile streches about 5.5 miles from Kortes Dam to the Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge. 11 primitive camping areas, and an accessible pier and restroom are on the Miracle Mile. Hiking, hunting in season, camping, picnicking, and wildlife viewing in the area.

Location: 54 miles southwest of Casper on US 220 then on Natrona County Route 407 and Carbon County Routes 291 & 351.   Latitude: 42.165392   Longitude: -106.891964
