Description: Part of a series of camp sites along the Red River, at 8300ft elevation this roadside campground, named for a nearby rock formation, has excellent trout fishing access to well-stocked Red River, nearby Eagle Rock Lake and hiking into surrounding high country, but can be very crowded during summer weekends. 21 sites. As an alternative, try BLM`s Wild Rivers Recreation Area north of Questa. Still, the campground offers the best seclusion of the Red River campgrounds. In winter, excellent downhill skiing at nearby Red River Ski Area.
