Description: 9550-foot elevation. Situated in an aspen-spruce forest the Barker Recreation Area consists of 13 individual campsites, a day use area adjacent to the Upper Barker Reservoir, and 3 group campsites. Old Lady Young holds 50-100 people, Gates holds 40 people/8 vehicles, and Porter Equestrian holds 35 people/8 vehicles. Porter site has corrals.Fishing and non-motor boating in Upper Barker Reservoir, and fishing and canoeing in Lower Barker Reservoir closeby. Quick hike (less than a mile) to seven additional backcountry lakes for fishing. Great Western Trail plus many other hiking or horse riding trails are in the area. 4-wheel drive/ATV road is nearby. Hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, and ATV riding are allowed on the Great Western Trail. Wildlife viewing in the area. Hunting in season.

Location: From Escalante, take Scenic UT-12 5 miles west to the North Creek Lakes sign, then turn north(right), then right again at the Barker CG sign and follow FR 149 about 16 miles north to the site. FR 149 gets rough at the end for about 2 miles and not recommended for trailers and large RV's.   Latitude: 37.91889   Longitude: -111.80694
