El Malpais Community Art Program Celebration- Summer 2023

Presented by the nonprofit Public Lands Interpretive Association and the New Mexico Bureau of Land Management, the El Malpais Community Art Program brings together artists of various disciplines to highlight the natural beauty and traditional uses of the landscape at El Malpais National Conservation Area. Artists from Indigenous communities and across New Mexico were invited to submit artwork centering on themes of land stewardship and conservation for display at the BLM Ranger Station at El Malpais (on NM-117, 9 miles south of 1-40 exit 89).

You’re invited to celebrate the summer session of this program on August 5th! From 1-4pm, enjoy an afternoon of art and exploration at one of New Mexico's most beautiful and storied landscapes. Featuring varied works by local artists, come experience some of the incredible art that New Mexico's landscapes can inspire. This event takes place at the Bureau of Land Management Ranger Station at El Malpais near Grants. There is no admission charge.
